About this project

Built in Australia by people who've walked the path you're on. We changed careers into cyber ourselves, and now work in the field, across security and governance, risk & compliance (GRC). This is the guide we wish we'd had starting out, grounded in what Australian employers actually look for.

Why we built it​

Changing careers into cyber security is hard to do alone. The advice online is scattered, often overseas-focused, and it's tough to know what actually matters for an Australian entry-level role versus what's noise. We've been through that confusion, so we built a single, free, job-focused path that maps to real Australian frameworks (ASD Essential Eight, the ISM, the ASD Cyber Skills Framework) and the entry roles people actually get hired into: SOC Analyst and GRC Analyst.

What we care about​

• Free to learn. The whole course is free, and there's no plan to charge for it. If we ever add anything optional and paid, the core learning stays free.
• Australian-focused. Frameworks, pathways, funding and job context are grounded in the Australian setting, with links to the official sources so you can always check for yourself.
• Privacy first. No accounts and no tracking cookies, so your learning progress stays on your own device. See our privacy page for exactly what that means.
